RM103 - SOOM T VERSUS KING CREOSOTE - WHAT IS LIFE

ROOT 8 RECORDINGS - 05/2007

Another organically grown classic with quarter of a million hits on youtube. Soom T teamed up with King Creosote, an independent singer-songwriter from Fife, Scotland.

"A strange and enlightening one-track single from Fence Collective's King Creosote and Glasgow hip-hop diva Soom T of Monkeytribe. They met at the Burnsong Songhouse in Dumfries and Galloway last year, a national initiative set up to honour the nation's most famous bard. The resultant fusion of King Creosote's gypsy-folk with Soom T's exquisite singing - inflected with just the rarest trace of a hip-hop cadence – is at once a danceable little number and as inventive a musical marriage as you are likely to hear this year. More please!" - Bram Gieben - theskinny.co.uk

JTR7-04 - SOOM T FLYING HIGH

JAHTARI - 05/2009

"Soom T's greatest record, shame it will never be re-pressed." - Bradx on Discogs.com

UNT001 - BRUNO BELLUOMINI - GENT SAO PAULO EP

UNITY TRAX - 10/2006

And now for something a little different... Soom T meets Bruno Belluomini for a grimey dubstep number with a minimal verse section dropping into a mental drop for the chorus, this is a fine example of one of Soom's older but not forgotten gems.

LVR014-1/Reverb 86 - PUPPETMASTAZ - CREATURE SHOCK RADIO

LOUISVILLE RECORDS/VICIOUS CIRCLE - 2005

The Puppetmastaz are a toy rap group, and I don't mean they are toys as in the graffiti/hip hop term, I mean they are actually a bunch of puppets, imagine the muppet show meats Wu-Tang...

Soom T teamed up with these guys all the way back in 2003 to feature on their album's somewhat funky album closer "Mastaplan". It is almost as if the producer had a foresight of Soom T's fate to become a Reggae MC with the off beat chords he added especially into her verse sections...
